The Executive Search Process
-
Defining Goals & Objectives
Our goal at the start of each search process is to gain a comprehensive understanding of our client’s corporate culture, philosophy and long-term view of their business, as well as their specific needs regarding what a new employee must bring to the table. This, of course, includes a thorough understanding of a prospective candidate’s required skill set, background and experience level, in addition to the finer points and more subtle individual assets that our client seeks.
-
Ethics & Confidentiality
Discretion and confidentiality are of the upmost importance when conducting a search for new talent. We at QCR recognize this and pride ourselves on using the greatest care never to compromise anyone’s confidentiality or to disclose information that a client or candidate would prefer be held in confidence. We go to great lengths to conduct search assignments while holding ourselves to the highest standards of ethics, trust and integrity, thereby assuring a smooth and comfortable process for all parties.
-
Search and Evaluation Process
Using every resource at our disposal, from our vast network of relationships, industry contacts, referrals and national databases, we conduct an exhaustive process of pinpointing appropriate candidates and then further narrowing that group to those deemed most appropriate for our client’s unique needs and working environment. We have in-depth conversations and conduct thorough screenings of each candidate in order to understand their backgrounds, competency, skill sets, motivations and aspirations, and to gain a detailed impression of the more intangible traits that they possess. After cross-referencing candidates and conducting careful due diligence, appropriate and highly qualified candidates are then presented.
-
Negotiation and Closing
Finding the right candidate is only the first step in the search process. The most important and often the most highly involved aspects are negotiation and closing. By taking into account the goals of our client and the motivations of the candidate, we work diligently and tactfully to achieve a successful contract agreement. We then thoroughly prepare the candidate for the often stressful resignation process, advising them on how best to conduct themselves and remain committed to their decision. We recognize that this can be a difficult time for a candidate and we are experts at guiding them through the entire process, ensuring a comfortable experience for all parties involved.
